Frequently asked questionsHow do I get to and from the slopes?Chalet Aux Joux (situated in the centre of Morzine, 7 minute walk to the ski lifts). You can easily walk to the ski lifts from this chalet although we do provide a shuttle service to the bottom of the lifts 6 days a week for your added convenience. The chalet is also on the free resort bus route. Chalets Allouette and Martinet (situated 300m from the Perrieres 6 man chairlift, Les Gets). These chalets are a 3-4 minute walk to a high speed chairlift. The bus stop for the free resort bus is also just a few metres from the chalets. We also provide a morning and evening shuttle service for beginners and families with kids to and from the bottom of the the nursery slopes. Brown
Bear Lodge (situated in the centre of Montriond which is a little
hamlet on the outskirts of Morzine). This chalet has a great location
as it is a 2 minute walk to a couple of bars, a local Savoyard
restaurant, a bar/hotel and Ardent Sports ski shop. Access to the ski
slopes is also excellent being only a 5 minute drive to Ardent bubble

till 5.30pm in the evenings. For those starting later or finishing
earlier then you can simply hop on the free ski bus which stops 50
metres from the chalet. Cairn Lodge (situated in Morzine and is a 2 minute walk to the nearest bar Le Garage and 5 minutes to the town hall and a whole host of bars and restaurants). Cairn Lodge is on the road that leads to Prodain and is a 4 minute drive to Prodain telecabine to access Avoriaz and a similarly short drive to Pleney telecabine for accesing Morzine. We offer a a morning shuttle service from 8.00 till 10.30 in the mornings and from 3.30pm till 5.30pm in the evenings. For those starting later or finishing earlier then you can simply hop on the free ski bus which stops 50 metres from the chalet. What if I want to stay and enjoy apres-ski?
For guests at Brown Bear Lodge you have a choice of bars within a 10 minute walk, if you would like a pick up from Morzine you can arrange this with your chalet hosts. For all other chalets, you can simply walk back to your chalet when you choose as all chalets in Les Gets and Cairn Lodge and Chalet Aux Joux in Morzine are within a 10 minute walk from town centre. What if I want to go into town after dinner?
For guests staying at Brown Bear Lodge either you can choose to drink locally in Montriond or we can give you a lift into Morzine after dinner and you can either walk or taxi it back. For all other chalets, you can simply walk back to your chalet when you choose as all chalets in Les Gets and Chalet Aux Joux and Cairn Lodge in Morzine are within a 10 minute walk from town centre. Can I leave my skis/snow board and boots in a safe place?
Yes. We have arranged with the respective ski shops we have partnered with in Morzine, Montriond and Les Gets that all kit can be left overnight with them regardless if you are renting from them or not. You can however always leave your kit in the chalets if you prefer, Brown Bear Lodge and Aux Joux both have heated boot rooms and Cairn Lodge has boot dryers and there is storage provided at Chalets Martinet and Alouette. How do I get my ski pass and do I need a photo?Let us know in advance what type of ski pass you require and we will have it ready for you. No photo is required and the pass has the bonus of being hands free so you just leave it in your pocket all day. What about ski/snowboard hire?
When you arrive we will take you to the shop and get you kitted out. If you are a late arrival we will do this early Monday morning and beat the queues. Can you help arrange ski school in Morzine & Les Gets?
We have the contact details for ski schools in the specific ski school resort pages of the website. It is best if you contact them directly as they will be able to place you in the most suitable group. We will make sure you get to your classes in time. What standard of skiers do you take on guided days?
Normally we take people who are comfortable red run skiers. Do you cater for vegetarians and other dietary requirements?Yes we do but please let us know in advance so we can shop accordingly. On the chalet staff's night off how do we get to a restaurant?
For guests staying at Brown Bear Lodge there is a choice of two restaurants in the village of Montriond, a couple of minutes walk from Brown Bear Lodge. If you prefer to have a night out in Morzine, it is a comfortable 20 minutes walk home on the flat or you can get a taxi. For all other chalets, you can simply walk into town and back to your chalet when you choose as all chalets in Les Gets and Chalet Aux Joux and Cairn Lodge in Morzine are within a 10 minute walk from town centre. We provide cots and high chairs in all our chalets and early dinners are also available at about 6pm for the kids. All our chalets have an honesty fridge with beer, wine, soft drinks and chocolate bars (mark down what you use and settle up at the end of your stay). You are welcome to bring duty free spirits, we sell tonic, coke and orange juice so you can mix up your own G&T!. Also remember that there is unlimited wine with your evening meal. Why come skiing to Morzine or Les Gets?
Morzine and Les Gets are both beautiful traditional towns with an excellent selection of winter sports and an abundance of summer activities. Both resorts are part of the huge Portes Du Soleil ski area, one of the best and most varied ski domains in the world and both are situated only 90 minutes from Geneva, making transfer times very bearable. How can we pay?
For ski passes, ski hire and honesty bar we accept credit cards and
euros. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express or pounds
sterling. If you prefer to pay for your accommodation in sterling this
can be arranged. What do we need to bring for a ski & snowboard holiday?Weather is very variable in the mountains so come prepared, essentially you need sun glasses, goggles, high factor sun screen, hat, gloves, couple of thin micro fleeces, thermal underwear, thin ski socks (don't wear 2 pairs it causes rubbing and blisters), waterproof jacket and trousers. You can hire skis, snowboard, boots and helmet in resort. |
