We've listed a range of activities suitable for children so that the whole family can get the most out of their holiday in the Portes du Soleil which is made up of child friendly ski resorts. Ice SkatingBoth Morzine and Les Gets have outdoor ice rinks in the centre of town which are open in the mornings from 10am till noon and in the afternoons from 3pm till 7pm and some evenings and Morzine also has a large indoor rink. The rinks cater for wee ones with special zones for young ones on the ice and wooden figures children and beginners can push around the ice to help keep your balance. Skates, boots and helmets are available to rent. Entry with hire costs 6 euros per person.TobogganingIn Les Gets, very close to Reach4thealps Chalets Alouette and Martinet there is a tobogganing area reserved for families at the foot of the Perrieres run. In Morzine there is a toboganning area next to the Crusaz chairlift.Le Petit TrainLinking the ski lifts in both towns there is a little train that runs skiers and boarders between the Chavannes and Mont Chery lifts in Les Gets and between the Supermorzine and Pleney lifts in Morzine. Torchlight Descent & FireworksEvery Thursday night the ESF ski instructors put on a "skiing through the ages" show dressed appropriately for each era followed by a torchlight descent down Pleney. An impressive fireworks show follows, guests staying in Chalet Aux Joux don't need to even get cold as they can watch the fireworks from the chalet balcony.Teenage DiscoOnce a week L'Opera nightclub hosts a soiree for teenagers, no alcohol is available. |
