Who Are Reach4thealps?

Reach4theAlps is an independent company offering winter ski and snowboard holidays and summer mountain bike and activity holidays in the French Alps and is owned and run by Gina and Marcus Ewart.

Originally from Scotland, we both worked for several years in London. City life was not for us and we always hankered for the mountains and a change of lifestyle. After many trips to the Alps and working winter seasons we decided to set up home in the beautiful alpine town of Morzine.

The Resorts

This season coming will be our 8th season running our own independent company and now have a portfolio of 3 chalets in  Morzine, 2 chalets in  Les Gets & a luxury chalet in Montriond. All of our chalets are in the Portes Du Soleil ski area.

The Chalets

Our chalets in Morzine are: Chalet Sol Re and Chalet Aux Joux , Chalet Alouette and Chalet Martinet  are chalets in Les Gets, our own purpose built luxury chalet, Brown Bear Lodge in Montriond and new for 2008/2009 season Cairn Lodge. We run our chalets on a fully catered basis in the winter except for Chalet Sol Re which has finally become home to our fast growing family and we are now renting out the top 2 floors (6 studio apartments) as seasonal lets. New to our portfolio for winter 2009/2010 is Chalet Chez Mado which is a self catering chalet based in Morzine.

Our Aim

Our aim is still the same as at the outset when we had only Chalet Sol Re, to share what we enjoy doing most: skiing and the outdoors; eating great food; drinking good wines and maybe the odd wee dram or two and having a great laugh with family and friends.

We aim to provide you and your family and friends with a truly relaxed and enjoyable ski and snowboarding holiday so that you will want to come back year after year. The huge number of repeat guests, many returning with us this winter for the 6th or 7th time, is testament that we achieve our aim!

Our Staff

Our staff are all over 23 (with an average age of mid 30s) & have been hand chosen by Marcus and myself. You will be looked after by your chalet host, chosen for his or her cooking experience & friendly & hospitable personality. We also have 3 ski guide drivers in resort and offer 3 days a week guiding for red run intermediate skiers and boarders.

For the first time last year we had a resort manager, Jane Wilshire, who had run Chalet Martinet in winter 2008-9 and then came on board with us full time in the office. We now don't know how we survived without her and are delighted she is continuing to work with us this summer and next winter. Great news too, Lee Collier, ski guide/driver at Cairn Lodge last year is also coming back next season, providing that is he doesn't break himself mountain biking this summer, anyone who skied with him will agree if he bikes like he skis, it could be messy!
